Cherished member of my MG collection for sale without reserve. This LHD 1953 MG TD2 was restored in 2009 (both body and mechanicals) in red and is complemented with black leather upholstery and a new black vinyl hood. The dash is in black vinyl and benefits from the addition of a 15” dark wood rimmed Mota Lita steering wheel. Under the bonnet the car is clean and presentable. The engine is nicely detailed and has a very nice alloy rocker cover fitted. The chassis and wooden timber frame are in good condition. The body ash frame was restored at the time of painting. Under the car it is also clean, detailed and well presented. The chrome work around the car is excellent and is complemented by period Lucas Tribar headlights and period Lucas driving lights. The radiator shell is superb and the bumpers are straight and have the correct curve. The steel wheels that were standard on the TD are all as new with new rubber fitted. The car is one of the last of the TD series, and benefits from the correct up rated TD2 engine and larger clutch. The engine pulls well and is unmodified, having just had a full engine service with a new exhaust fitted. Exhaust and exhaust manifold have been replaced since photographs. The car is ready to be used and enjoyed, capable of showing its heels to TCs and earlier TDs while still embodying the classic MG style. Just return from tour of Northern France in September - no mechanical issues on tour and is mechanically A1.
